SPECIAL LIGHTING ASSIGNMENT

Lawrence High School, 2525 Princeton Pike
Lawrence Township

On the evening of Friday, October 29, 2004, Lawrence Road Fire Co. volunteers supported the Lawrence High School Cardinals as they played their second-ever nighttime football game when they hosted West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South.

Portable floodlights were used to illuminate the football field, while additional lighting was provided for the parking lot and surrounding area by Lawrence Road’s Rescue 22 and Light Plant 31 from Prospect Heights Fire Co. of Ewing Township.

Telesquirt 22 also stood by at the game and remained available for emergency calls. (Fortunately, no alarms were received.)

The special assignment lasted from about 6:15 p.m. until 9:45 p.m. The evening proved to be a great success, as the Cardinals won the game by a score of 26 to 16.

(On October 25, 2003, Station 22 members assisted the football team in a similar way for their first-ever nighttime game, which they also won.)
