STAND-BY ASSIGNMENT

Falls Township Fire Co. #1 (Station 30)
Falls Township, Bucks County, Pa.


On Saturday, June 11, 2005, members of Lawrence Road Fire Co. stood by with Rescue 22 at the firehouse of Falls Township Fire Co. #1 (Bucks County Station 30) in Falls Township, Bucks County, Pa., while personnel from that fire company attended the annual Bucks County Firemen's Parade in Richlandtown, Pa.

Joining Rescue 22 in standing by at Station 30 was Ladder 14 from Hamilton Township's Hamilton Fire Co. (Mercer County Station 14-1). The standby went from 7 a.m. to about 8:30 p.m.

In command of Rescue 22 was Assistant Chief Chris Pangaldi. Capt. Shaun Dlabik served as driver. The crew included Capt. Michael Byrd, Lt. Edward Kitchen, Ff. Steve Hodgdon and Ff. Ryan Dlabik.

About 11:30 a.m., Rescue 22 and Ladder 14 responded on Box 30-15 to a possible structure fire at the Falls Creek Village apartment complex on Sweetbriar Drive in Falls.

Rescue 22 arrived first-due to find an alarm sounding but nothing showing from the building. Upon investigating, firefighters discovered that the alarm had been caused by a system malfunction. Residents leaving the builidng because of the fire alarm had apparently smelled smoke from a woman's cirgarette and reported a fire in the building.
