2105 Featherbed Court,
During the evening of Tuesday, November 29, 2005, Lawrence Road Fire Co. members were among the emergency personnel who responded to a small fire at 2105 Featherbed Court.
All three Lawrence Township fire companies were dispatched at 8:06 p.m. when Mercer County Central Communications Center transmitted Box 23-50.
Lawrence Road Chief Wayne Hannon responded in Car 22 and Lawrenceville Chief Dave Burns responded in Car 23 at 8:07 p.m.
Engine 22 responded at 8:08 p.m., followed by Telesquirt 23 at 8:09 p.m., Rescue 22 at 8:11 p.m., Snorkel 21 at 8:11 p.m., Engine 21 at 8:12 p.m. and Ladder Tower 23 at 8:13 p.m.
Engine 22 was commanded by Capt. Michael Byrd, driven by Ff. Joseph Dlabik Sr. and crewed by Ff. Brian Laue, Ff. Joseph Dlabik Jr., Ff. R.J. Laird, Ff. Sean Ryan and Ff. Ryan Dlabik.
Rescue 22 was commanded by Capt. Shaun Dlabik, driven by Ff. Charles Commini, and manned by Ff. Ed Budzinski, Ff. Chris Dlabik, Ff. Andrew Fosina and Ff. Adam Rivera.
Deputy Chief John Fleming also responded in Car 22-1, however his response times were not logged.
Burns and Engine 22 arrived on location at 8:16 p.m. to find nothing showing from the exterior of the three-story dwelling.
Engine 22's crew, with handtools and a water can, proceeded to the interior, where they found that a small fire had broke out after a candle had been left burning atop some books. The fire had consumed the books and some papers, but was already out.
Engine 22's crew quickly opened a small area of the adjacent wall and carpet and used their thermal imaging camera to check for fire extension, but none was found.
Meanwhile, Hannon and Snorkel 21 arrived on scene at 8:17 p.m., followed by Rescue 22 at 8:18 p.m., Telesquirt 23 and Engine 21 both at 8:19 p.m. and Ladder Tower 23 at 8:23 p.m.
At 8:24 p.m. Burns recalled all units with the exception of Telesquirt 23.
Rescue 22 and Engine 22 were both clear of the scene by 8:25 p.m. and back in quarters by 8:38 p.m.
