138 Bull Run Road,
Lawrence Road Fire Co. volunteers again responded mutual aid into Ewing Township for a RIT assignment at a working house fire during the evening of Sunday, February 26, 2006.
Pennington Road Fire Co. (Station 32), Engine 33 from West Trenton Fire Co., and Ladder Tower 31 from Prospect Heights Fire Co. were all dispatched at 7:25 p.m. when Box 32-10 was transmitted by Mercer County Central Communications Center for 138 Bull Run Road.
At 7:26 p.m. Assistant Chief 31 arrived and reported he had heavy smoke showing, with a working fire in the basement. As a result, the assignment was upgraded to a full first alarm and Rescue 22 from Lawrence Road was dispatched at 7:31 p.m. as the rapid intervention team.
Apparatus response times were as follows: Telesquirt 32 at 7:29 p.m.; Engine 33 at 7:29 p.m.; Engine 32 at 7:33 p.m.; Ladder Tower 31 at 7:33 p.m.; Rescue 22 at 7:34 p.m.; Ladder Tower 33 at 7:35 p.m.; and Squirt 31 at 7:38 p.m.
Rescue 22 was commanded by Assistant Chief Shaun Dlabik, driven by Capt. Michael Ratcliffe, and crewed by Ff. Steven Amiott, Ff. Jarred Pierson, Ff. R.J. Laird, Ff. Evan Kutzin, Ff. Brian Laue, and Ff. Joseph Dlabik Jr.
Chief Wayne Hannon, meanwhile, responded in Car 22, and Deputy Chief Chris Pangaldi responded in Car 22-1.
Telesquirt 32 arrived at 7:32 p.m. and its crew stretched a 1.75-inch hoseline inside.
Engine 33 arrived next at 7:34 p.m., followed by Ladder Tower 31 at 7:35 p.m., Rescue 22 at 7:38 p.m.; and Engine 32 at 7:40 p.m.
At 7:40 p.m. Command 32 reported that the fire had been knocked down and contained to a clothes dryer in the basement. Squirt 31 and Ladder Tower 33 were recalled at that time.
Rescue 22ís crew briefly stood by as the RIT until 7:47 p.m., when Command 32 recalled both Rescue 22 and Engine 33.
Telesquirt 32, Engine 32 and Ladder Tower 31 remained on scene a brief while longer to clear smoke from the home.
Rescue 22 was back in quarters by 8:01 p.m.
