Quaker Bridge Mall,
3320 Brunswick Pike, Lawrence Township

From about 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2006, members of Lawrence Road Fire Co. took part in a large scale training exercise conducted at Quaker Bridge Mall.

The exercise simulated a two-alarm fire inside the large mall at 3320 Brunswick Pike. During the scenario, a simulated mayday was transmitted and the rapid intervention team was deployed to rescue an injured and trapped firefighter.

The drill was run by Lawrenceville Fire Co. Chief Dave Burns.

Participating in the training exercise were all three Lawrence Township fire companies – Lawrenceville (Station 23), Lawrence Road (Station 22) and Slackwood (Station 21) – along with Engine 12-1 from Hamilton Township’s Mercerville Fire Co., Ladder Tower 44 from West Windsor Township’s Princeton Junction Fire Co., and Engine 63-1 from Mercer Engine Co. #3 of the Princeton Fire Department.

Lawrence Township police, Lawrence First Aid Squad, and mall management officials also took part in the scenario from a command post set up in the parking lot.

Attending with Engine 22 and Rescue 22 were the following Lawrence Road members: Assistant Chief Shaun Dlabik, Safety Officer James Yates, Ff. Steven Hodgdon, Ff. R.J. Laird, Ff. Joseph Dlabik Jr., Ff. Brian Laue, Ff. Jarred Pierson, Ff. Ryan Dlabik, Ff. Adam Rivera, Junior Ff. Wayne Hannon Jr., and Junior Ff. Peter Proctor.
