Home Depot, 1621 North Olden Avenue,
Ewing Township

During the evening of Thursday, November 30, 2006, Lawrence Road Fire Co. volunteers responded as the rapid intervention team at the scene of a working fire at the Home Depot store at 1621 North Olden Avenue in Ewing Township.

All three Ewing fire companies were dispatched on Box 31-10 at 7:25 p.m. Lawrence Road’s Rescue 22 was dispatched on the full first alarm at 7:27 p.m. after Ewing police arrived on scene and reported heavy smoke showing from the garden center of the Home Depot and customers and employees evacuating the building.

Rescue 22 responded at 7:29 p.m. with Ff. John Britton in command, Ff. Charles Commini Sr. driving, and a crew of Ff. Charles Commini Jr., Ff. Steven Amiott, Ff. Ryan Dlabik, and Ff. Joseph Dlabik Jr.

Deputy Chief Chris Pangaldi also responded to the scene in Car 22-1. Rescue 22 arrived at 7:32 p.m. and set up as the RIT.

The blaze, which involved piles of cardboard boxes, was quickly knocked down. Rescue 22 was released at 7:45 p.m. and was back in quarters by 7:52 p.m.
