NOTEWORTHY INCIDENTS
NOVEMBER 2009

During the month of November 2009, Lawrence Road Fire Co. volunteers responded to a total of 31 emergency calls. Below are details and photographs from some of the more noteworthy alarms and other non-emergency fire company activities that took place during the month.





VEHICLE FIRE
Date & Time: Thursday, November 5, 2009 – 2:28 p.m.
Location: 601 Lawrence Road, Lawrence Township, Mercer County, N.J.
Details: At 2:28 p.m. Mercer County Central dispatched Lawrence Road Fire Co. and Lawrence Township’s per diem duty crew (Engine 21-20 from Slackwood Fire Co.) for a reported vehicle fire in the rear parking lot of Notre Dame High School. A column of black smoke was rising from the sports fields at rear of the school as firefighters approached. Engine 21-20 arrived on location at 2:31 p.m. to find a golf cart – used by the school’s athletic department – fully-engulfed in flames. Engine 21-20’s crew attacked the fire with a 1.75-inch hoseline and quickly knocked down the flames. Rescue 22 arrived at 2:34 p.m. After the fire was completely out, Rescue 22 cleared the scene at 2:42 p.m. and was back in quarters at 2:47 p.m.
